I saw this graphic posted on Pinterest and for some reason, it struck a chord with me and I felt like I should write about it.
Are your beliefs really that important in defining who you are? Do they make you a better person? Or is how you behave as an individual the determining factor of whether you are a “better” person?
Personally….I think both have merit. But I also feel that there are so many factors that go into how a person is perceived by others that you cannot limit that sort of decision to beliefs or behavior.
I think part of the problem with society as a whole is that we like to label people. We like to lump them into one group or another. These people have strong beliefs…they are this way. These people behave this way….so that makes them this.
Why can’t we just accept people for the way they are, and let them live their own lives without judging them or labeling them!
Instead of making a decision about someone based on their beliefs, why don’t we open up our minds and souls and try to learn from them? This doesn’t mean you have to conform to their ways…but maybe you will? Maybe watching the way someone interacts with someone else will give you an idea of how you can better interact or communicate. And don’t forget…you can learn from negative behavior too!
So…don’t judge and don’t label people! There is no need for it!
Be open! Be accepting! And Be YOURSELF! That is all anyone ever truly wants!
